Setting goals

Reaching your own goals? Here is a well-tested method.

Three steps will lead to success, if you want to reach your personal goals.

  1. Set yourself a goal that is really important for you. And I mean for you, not for your partner, your doctor or someone else – just for you. Then ask yourself on a scale from 1 to 10 how important it is for you to reach that goal – 1 is not important at all and 10 is most important. When this number is below 7, then you should consider to go for this goal later. It is not important enough for you and the risk that you will fail  is high. Maybe you consider, that something else than this is more important for you. In this case, work on this goal.
  2. Define your goal exactly. Write down you goal as exactly as possible and break it down into little steps. Determine the exact time to begin realizing your goal. For example when your goal is to jog every day within one year, then plan to run 3 times a week for 20 minutes and plan to start next weekend.
  3. Evaluate your experiences. Take some time every 2 weeks and sit down to reflect, wether you reached the goal you set. If for example you could not reach your goal to jog every 3 days for 20 minutes, because you felt overchallanged, reduce the intensity. Change your plans but do not loose sight of your goal. Always adjust the next step to the experiences you made with the past steps. This way you will find your very own and personal way to accomplish your goals.

I wish you success!!!!
